thousand eight hundred and sixty-seven between Snowden
Singletary of the County of Bladen and State of North Carolina
of the one part and Bristr Singletary ( Freedman ) of the
County and State aforesaid on the other part. Witnesseth:
that the said Snowden Singletary for and in consideration of
the many good services and favors him and his family has
received from the said Bristr Singletary ( Freedman ) Also the
sum of one dollar to me in hand paid by the said Bristr
Singletary ( Freedman ) has given, granted, aliened, released
and confirmed and by these presents does give, grant, alien,
release and confirm unto the said Bristr Singletary ( Freedman
) his heirs and assigns for a certain tract or parcel of Land
situated on the North Side of Bryan Swamp and on the East
Side of Big Swamp, it being a part of Two hundred acre
survey granted to David Nance the fifteenth of August one
thousand eight hundred and registered in Book G page 413 in
the Registry of Bladen County, to contain Forty-Eight acres
land, piece to be laid off and allotted from the South end of
the said survey and to run parallel with the Southern line of
said survey. Together with privileges and all things appertinant
which and are the estate, right, title and interest of him the
said Snowden Singletary in and hereto to have to hold the
said piece or parcel of land and all appurtenances, things to
him the said Bristr Singletary ( Freedman ) his heirs and
assigns for his and their proper use and to hold forever
